Local residents and business people are invited to take part in workshops about plans to redevelop the old Contacio site in Scarborough.

Developer 3 Oceans Property is excited about the opportunity to help shape the iconic Contacio site.

“The Contacio site, at the corner of West Coast Highway and Scarborough Beach Road, is an important part of Scarborough’s identity and evolution, and has the potential to become a landmark for both the local community and its many visitors – blurring the edges between Scarborough’s beachfront and urban life,” 3 Oceans Property Managing Director Dyno Zhang said.

“The vision for redevelopment is to create a development of international standard which celebrates the area’s unique identity and delivers new public spaces and attractions, living and retail options and infrastructure, Mr Zhang said.

The planning application will be considered by the Metropolitan Development Authority (MRA), which is the planning authority for the Scarborough Redevelopment Area.

“We are very keen to hear from local people about the vision for the site and provide an opportunity for them to provide input, prior to submission of a development application,” Mr Zhang said.

Mr Zhang said it is proposed that workshops with the community and businesses would take place in the next couple of weeks.

“This is a unique opportunity to be part of a revitalisation process for Scarborough, working with local people as well as planning authorities, and we welcome input from people living and working in the area.”
