Positive Feedback from Local Community Toward Iconic Contacio site Redevelopment
The 3 Oceans Property project team recently held two community workshops to gather feedback on the plans to redevelop the old Contacio site in Scarborough.
The feedback received from the local community was overwhelmingly positive. They loved the bold design and the integration of community facilities.
Perhaps of biggest interest for those who attended is the proposed public carpark, encompassing up to 400 car bays. It will be located on the east side of West Coast Highway, and it will; ease congestion and future pressures on parking on the beach front.
Other exciting features of the proposed development include a pedestrian bridge, providing easy access to the beach and the potential for a light rail to be implemented there in the future.
The Contacio site is located on the corner of West Coast Highway and Scarborough Beach Road, and if it is approved, this redevelopment will become a well-known landmark for the local community and international visitors.
The proposed development plans include a 4-star hotel, a beach-side convention centre, 300 residential apartments and resort-style commercial and retail space. The planning application will be considered by the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) who manage the Scarborough Redevelopment area.
